BARBARA BOGGS JOINS THE REAGAN BUILDING TEAM TO ESTABLISH INNOVATIVE MEETINGS AND EVENTS VENTURE
Washington, DC - February 10, 2006 - Trade Center Management Associates (TCMA) announced today that Barbara Boggs, a founder of the area's first desti-nation management company, Washington Inc., is joining with Trade Center Management Associates, to form a new event planning and management venture: Washington Link™. The new venture provides comprehensive services to a wide range of clients including corporations, associations and government groups by combining leading edge technology with highly trained, seasoned and service oriented professionals.
Washington Link™ combines the talents of a noted industry veteran with the talent and expertise of TCMA, the Trade Center Manager for the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center. Ms. Boggs, the managing director of Washington Link™, along with Giles Beeker, Vice President of TCMA, will offer clients a broad spectrum of services that will cover the gamut from contract nego-tiations to program management - to improve communication and coordination of meetings, events and programming. Washington Link™ will be headquartered at the Ronald Reagan Building.
According to Boggs, former owner and CEO of Barbara Boggs Associates, "The meeting and event planning industry appears to have recently fragmented into many small one and two person firms. As a result, meeting and events are often compromised and even put at risk by the lack of experience, organizational depth - or both. It is apparent that the industry requires the safety of systems and experienced personnel to ensure that a meeting, event and program is handled professionally, efficiently and accurately."
Mr. Beeker was a key part of the TCMA team that launched the sales, marketing and events operation at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in downtown Washington, DC. The Ronald Reagan Building is one of the city's largest and more prominent meetings and special event facilities and produces over 1,500 meetings and events per year. Meetings and events include the 50th Anniversary of the NATO Summit, the annual Children's Hospital Gala- Jazzmatazz and OPNET, one of DC's signature technology events. John E. Drew, Chairman of TCMA stated, "The addition of Washington Link to the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center complements our current meeting and event services and now offers our clients a broader range of services that can be implemented seamlessly and professionally."
While Washington Link™ will support events and meetings at the Ronald Reagan Building, it will also provide meeting and event services at venues throughout the city and the region. Barbara Boggs said, "Washington Link represents the next step in the evolution of the meeting and event planning business and I am filled with enthusiasm to be a part of this exciting new endeavor."
